Acting workshop in English/ 10 spots

Join our acting workshop in English designed for actors who want to prepare for international casting and productions. Shahaf Ifhar leads the workshop from Tel Aviv, an experienced coach and actor from the Habima National Theater in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem Theatre, PIT Theatre Festival in Norway, and JW3 Theatre in London.

In this 3-session workshop, you will acquire a toolkit for actors interested in gaining confidence and artistic freedom in their acting in English, regardless of your native language or accent. The focus of the workshop will be on using specific tools and practices to help bring as much truth and spontaneity to our acting in English as can more naturally appear in our native language. In the first session we will review these simple tools, including Sanford Meisner's repetition exercise, memorization and speech techniques, and language embodiment exercises. From this point you will practice and rehearse with your partners independently between the next two sessions, first finding connection to the language and to each other and slowly adding layers of scene analysis, props and costumes. We will review the work in our sessions while practicing jumping from repetition, to improv, to scene text, all with the idea that whatever layers of meaning we build on the scene, the foundation is a connection to the words and to our partner. Class program includes: 

1. Using Meisner's repetition exercise to establish connection and honesty

2. Learning text without expression or interpretation3. Exploring the body-emotional connection to words in our native language

4. Transferring this connection to words and phrases in English

5. Practice making each line "land" with your partner

6. Add layers of scene analysis - what are we doing and what do we want? 

7. Explore imaginary "as ifs" for our scene and improv on them8. Add layer of props, costumes and personalization

Participants will receive certificates of completion.

-być gotowi do castingów i do grania w międzynarodowych produkcjach,

-czuć się pewniej w nagrywaniu self-tape’ów w języku angielskim,

-aby granie w języku angielskim przychodziło z lekkością i przyjemnością,

-mieć materiały do nagrania w celu znalezienia międzynarodowych agencji,

-nabrać praktyki grania scen w języku angielskim w bezpiecznej atmosferze,

-pracować pod okiem międzynarodowego coacha i aktora,

-poznać techniki uczenia się tekstu,

-rozpocząć naukę spontanicznego reagowania w języku angielskim,

-poznać podstawową analizę scen.

Program zajęć:

• Repetition - ćwiczenie powtórkowe Meisnera w celu oswojenia się z pracą w języku angielskim

• Repetition, czytanie i analiza scen,

• Short repetition, landing exercise, pogłębianie pracy nad sceną,

• Ćwiczenie “As if”, improwizacja, dochodzą kostiumy i rekwizyty,

• Zakończenie pracy nad pierwszą sceną

Uczestnicy otrzymują certyfikaty ukończenia kursu.
